Kelly Tobler was born at the army base known as Medley in Cold Lake, Alberta. Her father’s career in the RCMP moved her family a few times before landing them in Lloydminster in 1997. She graduated high school in Lloydminster and lived in Edmonton, Alberta for a few years.
When she decided to attend college, she returned to the border city to spend two years at Lakeland College for her Business Management Diploma. After receiving her diploma with honors she began working in the oil industry – working for Lloydminster’s most prominent oil company for over five years. Although she did enjoy it and was successful, she realized she had a desire for more education and returned to full time studies. She received her Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Athabasca University with Great Distinction in June 2013 and began working with Atlas Appraisals as a candidate appraiser. Kelly is currently in the PGCV program with UBC working towards her AACI designation.
Her favorite quote, from Alberta Schweitzer: “In the hopes of reaching the moon, men fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet” – it’s important to set goals and strive for them, but don’t get so caught up in the future that you don’t notice how beautiful the present is.
